The West University “Vasile Goldiș” of Arad (UVVG) organized an anniversary event dedicated to Professor Stelean-Ioan Boia, a distinguished historian, researcher, and academic, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Professor Stelean-Ioan Boia was born on January 25, 1946, in Șiștarovăț, Arad County, and is a prominent figure in the academic and cultural environment of western Romania. Throughout his career, he has carried out remarkable teaching and research activities, serving as a professor at UVVG within the Faculty of Humanistic Sciences, where he also held the position of Vice-Dean.

His scholarly work includes books, studies, and articles published by prestigious publishers, including Vasile Goldiș University Press, addressing topics related to local and national history, the history of education, and notable personalities of the Romanian space. His editorial and research activity is closely linked to promoting the cultural and academic values of Arad and the Banat region.

“This event was organized at the initiative of the Rector, Prof. Dr. Habil. Coralia Adina Cotoraci, as a natural gesture of respect and gratitude toward Professor Stelean-Ioan Boia for his outstanding contribution to the development of higher education and the enrichment of cultural and academic life. Through his teaching and scientific work, he has influenced entire generations and strengthened the prestige of our institution,” stated UVVG Vice-Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cristian Bente.

During the event organized by UVVG, biographical milestones and representative works of Professor Stelean-Ioan Boia were presented, highlighting his essential contribution to the development of higher education and historical research. Participants emphasized his professionalism, scientific rigor, and dedication in shaping generations of students.
